N204 – Forward tipping Dumper

Aim
The aim of training candidates on N204 – Forward Tipping Dumper is to provide them with basic knowledge and practical skills to NPORS high standard. (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme)
Experienced Worker Test,
upon successful completion the candidate will be able to:
Operate the machine to a minimum standard.
Fit and operate ancillary equipment.
Site the machine safely and efficiently.
Know which minor adjustments and routine servicing procedures are necessary, and be able to carry them out.
Prepare the machine for travelling on the public highway.
Understand the capabilities, purposes and limitations of each machine.
Apply all necessary safety precautions.
Understand how diesel engines work and how various parts of the machine operate.
Course Summary
Gaining a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and responsibilities as a plant operator.
Learning a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used.
Being able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions.
Being able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions.
Conducting all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements.
Identifying and maintaining PPE appropriate for forward tipping dumper use.
Preparing the forward tipping dumper for use and operating safely and efficiently.
Conducting all necessary safety checks at the work area.
Attaching and setting out trailers, ready for operation.
Environmental considerations.
Storage and transport of implements and attachments.
Carrying out all end of shift and shut down procedures.
