N100– Excavator as a Crane

Aim

The aim of training candidates on N100 – Excavator as a crane is to provide them with basic knowledge and practical skills to NPORS high standard. (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme)
Our plant test demonstrates how you lift, check, properly load and maintain an excavator as a crane for an NPORS Operator card.

Experienced Worker Test,
upon successful completion the candidate will be able to:

 

Gaining a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a plant operator.
Being able to conform to manufacturers requirements as per technical data, comform to relevant regulations and legislation.
Being able to locate, identify and explain Safe Working Loads (SWL), lifting capacity chart and explain different lifting configurations and working ranges.
Identifying and explaining different lifting procedures, explaining what task could fall into which category.
Identifying and explaining centres of gravity and calculate estimated weights of loads.
Identifying any overhead / proximity hazards.
Being able to agree the signal codes / hand signals, direction of movement, safe working and safe landing, placement zone with the Slinger / Signaller.
Ensuring the Excavator is in a safe condition for attachments to be fitted.
Checking out load integrity and security by carrying out trial lifts.
Being able to lift and move to a designated position in a safe and controlled manner, ensuring minimum uncontrolled movement.
Environmental considerations.
Carrying out all end of shift and securing procedures.
